Apple confirms no Siri for iPhone 4

Apple has confirmed that it has no plans to bring its voice search feature, Siri, to older iPhone devices - stating that: we currently have no plans to support older devices.

"Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue: Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices."

Although this news won't come as a huge surprise to many users, there had been various attempts to port Siri voice recognition to earlier models and, according to some, there is no good reason why the iPhone 4 wouldn't be able to support it.

Siri, however, is still in its early stages and currently has a "beta" tag attached to it, so when certain issues are ironed out and, more importantly for Apple, the company has sold enough iPhone 4Ses; there could well be a change of heart at Cupertin
