Latest Samsung & Verizon mutually announce the Stratosphere, the first LTE Android phone with a QWERTY keyboard.

Samsung & Verizon announced the Stratosphere LTE Android Phone, the first Android smart phone with a full LTE 4G connection and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The Samsung Stratosphere has been mentioned several times in the past. Photos have emerged and it has been spotted at an FCC filing,

The Stratosphere has a single-core 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, sport 512MB of RAM, Super AMOLED display, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 4GB of internal storage and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and will feature a slide out QWERTY keyboard for all you texting fans out there.

There will also be a microSD card slot available (supports up to 32GB) along with a 4GB microSD card bundle. The phone’s competition will be the Droid 3, which has opposing strengths: though it lacks 4G LTE speeds, it makes up for it with dual-core processing power and a big screen.

Samsung also points out that the Stratosphere has some added business features like Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, services from Cisco, remote device management, and remote wipe.
